Orwell is the second piece from Blax Draft in Playground Records. With a defined style, his productions have dry and thriving drums, heavy bass and modulations of big boat’s horn entering the port.
Orwell original mixes ethereal sounds, tripping pads, with this bulldozer’s base that goes on, unbreakable. On cruising speed, the ship makes its way through the fog.
The other original track, Asafari, co-produced with Nahuel is one of these spying tracks, sharp, that flies fast and low, as a contemplative raptor. The hunt that waits, alert, the lookout that watches, speed of a hyena and sight of a lynx.
Ricardo Ruben remixes Orwell, faithful to his style, a metallic melody that goes up and down, from one side to another, exhibiting its grace while percussive taps in quaver lead a rolled but quiet tempo. A long path along a different landscape enters an unknown town.
The second remix is by Klimber and carries us into the city, an acid and slow breakbeat starts grooving with airs of basketball feints, ideal to musicalize a walk through New York with a boombox on your shoulder, but also glamorous as a satin sport car driving on a L.A. boulevard. Retro reminiscences with refined contemporary touches wiggle until comes a breaking point from where everything starts to flow, skating on the pavement, trudging while passing the facades, with the breeze on your face as you walk through a city that never looses the rhythm.
